Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 11 August 2026 · Last updated: 11 August 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Paperly PDF covering your use of the Paperly PDF Android application, any updates to it, and this website (together, the "Service").

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing or using Paperly PDF, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you obtained the app from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use Paperly. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.

3. Licence to use Paperly

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Paperly PDF on devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use, in accordance with these Terms.

You may not:

  • copy, sell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the app;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to derive the source code, except where such restriction is prohibited by law;
  • remove or obscure any proprietary notices; or
  • use the app to build a competing product.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • process documents you have no legal right to access or modify;
  • forge signatures, alter documents fraudulently, or create misleading legal or financial records;
  • infringe intellectual property, privacy or other rights;
  • distribute malware or attempt to disrupt, probe or overload the Service; or
  • violate any applicable law or regulation.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that any electronic signature you apply meets the legal requirements of your jurisdiction and use case.

5. Your content

You keep all rights to the documents and files you open, edit or export with Paperly. We do not claim ownership of them and, because processing is done on your device, we do not access their contents. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups; Paperly is not a backup or storage service.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

Paperly may offer optional paid features or subscriptions. Where purchases are made through Google Play, billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by Google under its terms and refund policy. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in your Google Play account before the renewal date. Prices may change with prior notice applying to future billing periods.

7. Updates and availability

We may release updates that add, change or remove features, and we may discontinue the Service or support for older Android versions. Paperly currently supports Android 8.0 (Oreo) and newer. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

8. Third-party services

The Service may link to or interoperate with third-party services (for example Google Play, Google Sign-In, cloud storage apps and the Android share sheet). We are not responsible for those services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Intellectual property

Paperly PDF, its name, logo, design, code and documentation are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the licence in Section 3, no rights are granted to you.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that document conversions or exports will be error-free, or that any output is legally valid for a given purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, documents, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your content, or your breach of these Terms or applicable law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 9 to 12) will survive.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of India will have exclusive jurisdiction — except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring proceedings locally.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice in the app or on this page. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
